Dirt Track Information

If you've never been to a dirt track race... shame on you! Redeem yourself now by finding a local track so you can see what the buzz is all about. My only suggestions to a newbie are:

  1. Try to sit up high in a straightaway, because you will be able to see the race much better up there. Don't be fooled by all the empty spots on a track's corners. The reason those spots are empty is because you will get pelted by dirt clods if you sit there.
  2. Bring some sort of eye protection (like sunglasses)... it's a dust in the eye thing. Most tracks get watered down before the races start, but by the end... the tracks are dry and the dust is flying. It can be a little irritating on the eyes. :)
  3. Have fun! If you don't know any of the drivers... pick a car with your favorite number or color to root for. You'll have a blast!

The following track locator is courtesy of a site called Chasin' Racin' (http://www.chasinracin.com). They have awesome maps of the United States and Canada that will direct you to the nearest race track in your area.
